Top ten reasons to travel with Bird Uganda Safaris

Intoduction

We believe that at trip to Uganda is an experience that can make eco-travelers realize their dream destination. With over 1020 species in an Area of 236,040 square kilometers, without the coastal zone; the astounding contrasts in the habitats make Uganda one of the best birding destinations in the whole world.

  • the spectacular Murchison Falls on River Nile
  • pre-historic Lake Victoria surrounded by wetlands – both open water bodies and marshes of Papyrus reed beds, Miscanthus, typha species etc
  • the stunning snow-capped Rwenzori range
  • majestic montane forests of the Albertine Rift, combined with the lowland tropical rain forests of Budongo and Kibale
  • eye-taming dry thorn-scrub semi-arid plains of Karamoja
  • open savannas mixed with acacia species, woodlands and gardens of Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks

Combining supreme bird diversity, the glamour of large mammals in immense wilderness areas with the contemporary culture of the people in Uganda – the friendliest in Africa; no other area in Africa can match with Uganda in terms of biological and cultural diversity! Mountain Gorilla tracking is a ‘must-life-time’ activity

Reason one: Uganda’s best bird guides
They are amongst the top field ornithologists in East Africa, knowledgeable enough at finding birds and their microhabitats and making sure that every participant sees them. Bearing in mind that birding involves seeing and discovering amazing things, equally, our guides are affectionate, fun loving people who genuinely enjoy making the tour a pleasant experience for each participant.

Reason two: The best safari transport arrangement
We use 8-seater 4WD Toyota land cruisers or omnibuses with open roof hatches for most of our tours. To minimize the seat rotation system, create enough space for Luggage and maximize the comfort of our clients, we seat a maximum of 6 people. With the help of the 5 window seats in each vehicle, there are equal opportunities for birding, viewing and photographing the wildlife for all our clients.

Reason three: Finest accommodations and excellent meals
We use some of the romantic lodges and tented camps in Uganda and Rwanda that have the best reputation in ecotourism. The lodges and the hotels that we use are simple and luxurious in nature, strategically located to optimize the birding potential. Meals are a feast of international and local cuisines, all prepared beautifully and tastefully.

Reason four: Dine where the wildlife lives
Our superb Bird Uganda mobile catering unit ensures that our visitors are provided the finest hot lunches, breakfast an dinner where the birds and other wildlife are most abundant and we have to spend most of the time in the field.

Reason five: Incomparable Expertise
With our combined 20 years experience in identifying wildlife expedition circuits, training local/site guides  both in Uganda and Rwanda, we ably assist most of our clients to design excellent customized tour packages.

We are also involved in supporting local community initiatives where 10% of our tour proceeds go to help the needy in their education. We are the first tour company in Uganda to promote conservation awareness programmes by establishing the Young Birders Club.

 Reason six: Small groups
To avoid impact on the environment and provide for your comfort, our group size is limited to a maximum of 12 visitors per trip.

Reason seven: Meet the broad smiles of Ugandans
Our tours allow the clients to come face-to-face with the friendly people of Uganda through visiting rural schools in some parts of western and south western Uganda in, eating lunch in a local home, or learning about the customs of Uganda by attending  traditional ceremonies, dance and drama groups.

Reason eight: Night time birding and game drives
We are flexible enough to let our clients get a rare opportunity to enjoy nighttime game drives, a privileged experience only allowed in specific national parks.

Reason nine: Pocket friendly tours
Whether you are a luxurious traveler or a budget traveler, we ensure that everyone is catered for.

Reason ten: Package diversification
Despite exclusive birding tours that we offer, some Bird Uganda tours are designed in such away that one does not miss the other wildlife of interest. We have extended our personalized excellent services to include tours like, birding ant butterfly/insect viewing, birding and primate watch, Game viewing birding and nature photography etc
